Mission: Master Builder mission is to set a foundation of purpose and build character in youth through engineering, math and science classroom projects.
History: Master Builder began as MOVES, a 501c3 non-profit organization founded in 1995, which partnered with local Elementary Schools through Colleges, industry, and community organizations to motivate students in the areas of math, science and engineering; and to improve problem solving, creativity and teamwork skills. MOVES also wrote curriculum, consulted and trained teachers in various parts of the country. Stemming from MOVES, Master Builder seeks to build knowledge, understanding and wisdom in youth by the use of math, science and engineering project as a vehicle to teach character and purpose.

Each of the above projects follows the design, build and test model that engineers use in business daily. Students are taken through a brainstorming exercise, presented a challenge, teamed in groups of 2-3 to design their solution, build their designed solution, test their solution, and learn from peers through team presentations. The projects are designed for one hour in length and can be adapted to 30 to 90 minutes. Students will be presented with a two-page handout; page 1 with instructions and background material and page 2 with math and science questions to be answered. The handouts are tied to the state and national math and science standards. Materials for the projects are provided.
